SAHM, LEMKE, MUNSEY, POWELL, MAIER, SMITH, BARRICK/BERG

The son of Joannes and Anna Maria (???) Sahm,Jerome was baptized at St. Nikolaus Church, Jügesheim on December 13, 1754. Jerome married Maria Anna Kolb daughter of Thomas and Anna Maria (???) Kolb on February 17, 1754. Johann Sahm b. September 4,1784 m. Elisabetha Maier, dau. of Jacob and Elisabetha (Weiz) Maier on March 18, 1815 (Johann was previously married to Katharina Maier, sister to Elisabetha, until her death in 1814. Elisabetha (Weiz) Maier married Nicolao Rueter after the death of Jacob) Johann came to the US and settled in Dubois County, Indiana with his son Henry crica 1850. John Michael Sahm I, son of Henry and Magdalena ( Lutz or Lotz) was born in Pittsburg, PA in December 1850. Johann is listed in the 1860 census as living with Henry and Lena--no knowledge of when Johann died--it is possible he outlived his son Henry who died in 1862. John Michael Sahm I m. Klara Oestreich on May 29, 1876.
Henry Lemke emmigrated from Germany with his parents and siblings in 1864. They first settled near St. Louis, then to around West Point, Iowa, then to Lawrence, Nebraska. Henry and his wife Mary are buried at St. Stephen's Cemetery about a mile south of Lawrence, Nebraska. Henry's brother John is buried there--brother Joseph in Hastings and brother Richard is buried in Corpus Cristi Cemtery near Effingham, Kansas.

Simon Berg died at Schellweiler, Germany between 1709 and 1716--father of Hans Adam Berg b circa 1687. Descendant who emmigrated to U.S. Johann Jacob Berg/Barrick (named changed coming into US). He was father of Susan Barrick who married Peter Smith on March 20, 1817 at Hampshire/Mineral County, (West) Virginia.

Denford W. Powell (b October 13, 1888 d April 13, 1915) married Bessie Smith on April 7, 1907.(He was born at West Union, Doddridge County, West Virginia.)His daugher Hazel had a child by Edward Munsey son of Henry Munsey and Bertha May Williams of Gullybridge and Nichols County West Virginia respectively. Edward was born at Widen, West Virginia I believe.
