  Son of David Maggard Adams and Matilda Belle Gibson. I now believe Uncle John was the son of Matilda Belle Gibson and her first husband William Thomas. but he was raised an Adams and died an Adams. He was born October 1889 and Matilda and David were Married in Wise Co., Va in November 24 1890. the 1900 census gives us John's birth date. Matilda as married twice with five births and five living children. John would be the first of those children.

Sophia's mother was Hiram's first wife Martha Ann Swiney

This Picture is really a picture of Stumbo and his Granddaughter Helen Johnson daughter of Everett Johnson and Anna Hober, but due to todays weirdos I cut the child out as she was dressed as many of us where back then a pair of cotton panties. My Mom kept me in them because I would play in the old black dirt. She kept a # 2 wash tub setting in the sun when I wanted in she would stripe me, wash me in the tub, dry me off and put on a clean pair of panties, because she knew I would be back out side playing in the dirt in a few minutes.

  Elisha "Ground Hog" Johnson has often been confused with Our Elisha Johnson, Elisha "Ground Hog" Johnson was born about 1838 and was married to Marilda Justice. His Elizabeth Hall can be found on the 1880 floyd Co. KY Census living next to him. I am told their oldest daughter is named Marilda after his wife. Our Elisha Johnson is also on the 1880 Floyd Co. Ky census. He is living with Eliza Bates Hall Johnson his Wife.and their family

  This is the picture my Gandmother Martha Elizabeth {Johnson}Isaac had of her husband Hiram Isaac and one of his sons, I believe German. My sister has the orignal still in its oval frame. Hiram asked her never to marry again before he died and she promised him she would not. She kept her word. She lived 40 years minus one day, after he died.
