MASCITTI AND SANTARELLI FAMILIES
MASCITTI AND SANTARELLI FAMILIESUpdated April 9, 2007 | Carmine ISantarelli [email protected] |
I have enclosed a bit of family history that I have collected over the past 6 months. It is obvious that it is far from complete. There are many gaps, and years missing, history sadly that has vanished from our reach. What is here is a glimpse of our family.Hopefully it will tell you a bit about yourself. There are indeed surprises. Not all that is recorded is perfect. But history must remain true. The pictures are timeless, and beautiful. The ship manifests are the beginnings of a journey by our Grandparents, our fathers and mothers that would bring us into this world in this country. They came here with less than 50 dollars, yet built families that never lacked anything even in the lean times. Yes, their villages were lacking work, and in desperate decline economically, this was the driving force for many to leave. But still, it took someone with the fiber of one fearless, one with courage to make this huge journey at the turn of a century, to face a distant and strange land. This search has taught me many things. For sure it has refreshed my love for my father and his family. I hope it does the same for you. 'A mans heritage peers into his future' Regards, Carmine |
