The Cox, Wimberlys, and Sanders both have roots in Mississippi. My maternal side includes the Wimberly lineage, probably dating back to Lewis [Louis] Wimberly or Wimberley, and Samuel Cox, both of Carroll County, Mississippi. I am not able to trace my paternal grandfather - Jessie Olan Sanders who moved into Sledge, Quitman County, Mississippi. He was originally from Alabama and married Annie Mae Lum McKay of Leake County, Mississippi.

My maiden name is Cathy Elizabeth Sanders. I owe a special thank you to my cousin, David Wimberly, who provided the original notes and research and hooked me on such a fascinating topic. I am stunned by the generosity of individuals who share their information. I hope I can be of help to you! Enjoy.
