A school and lake were named after my great grandfather and his family, as they were some of the early settlers in the southeast part of the province. My grandfather and his brothers were the first to settle there and since the land wasn't yet surveyed they were first squatters and later homesteaders. Most of the population in the district were of Icelandic or Norwegian or other descents and they did not pronounce or spell our surname with the "H" included.
