Samuel was the son of Samuel Emerson Bereman and Eleanor Hampton (Ellis) Bereman, the brother of Jonathan Slaughter Bereman, the husband of Damaris (Ross) Bereman, and the father of Theona, Jesse, Samuel, and Millicent.
