Daniel Joseph Sapia

2154 Hwy 182

Raceland, Louisiana 70394-3133

I am researching the Sapia Genealogy. The name has two spellings, that I know of; they are "Sapia" and "Sapier", I've seen other names simular, such as; Tapia, Sappia, Sappie, and Zapia, however I have never yet made any connection to my surname of Sapia.
My great-great grandfather, Louis Sapia Sr., according to records, and Family Tradition, Stowed-away on a ship, at the Port of Genoa, Italy, between 1810 and 1820. Sailed the Atlantic, enroute to New Orleans... was discovered, and subsequently jumped ship around Biloxi. There he met and married an Indian girl, named "Petronille Beebe" time went on, they migrated to the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, in the Barrateria area. Very little is known about him before that. The same is true about Petronille Beebe. I'm researching these two, extensively and would appriciate any help I can get.
In addition, I'm researching the Himel Family .... the Duet Family .... The Daigle Family .... and the Bourgeois Family. These were all settlers of South Louisiana.
I have much information already, but I have only began to scratch the surface.
I'm willing to share the information that I have, and would appriciate any new information I can get.
