Betty's Delight and LeMaster's Delight were plantations (farms) owned by
Abraham. Abraham's will and inventory at the time of his death shows that,
while he was rich in land, he had little else.

Abraham LeMaster was born Abraham LeMaistre to John and Sarah LeMaistre cir. 1636 on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. As the islands were British at the time, despite his French heritage he was an English citizen. He settled in the western portion of St. Mary's County, Maryland, which later became Charles county. It has been said that he probably married Elizabeth because he owned a place called "Betty's Delight". We have found no basis for this assumption. He was not the original owner of Betty's Delight. Also, we have found other property in the area called Betty's Delight. Apparantly they used the word 'patent' in those days about the same as we use the word deed today.
Bob LeMaster, summarized from 'Lemasters, U.S.A. 1639 - 1965'.

Notes for Alice Cooksey:
LDS lists Abraham's wife as Alice Cooksey, but I do not know of any documentation for that. But there were Cooksey's elsewhere in the line, so that is possible.

Notes for Jean (John Brickey) Bricquet:
John Brickey, Sr was the first and only Brickey progenitor to come to America, landing first in South Carolina around 1680. His last name was spelled "DeBrique or Briquette." This was later changed to "Brickey" because it was the American pronunciation. John stayed for about a year in South Carolina and they went to Maryland. He left France during the St. Bartholomew Massacre in 1685. According to the Brickey records, "the streets ran red with Huguenot blood." John made his escape with his family and migrated down to Westmoreland County, Virginia around the year 1710.

John seems to have got himself into a lot of legal troubles upon arriving to America. This was probably due to the fact that he was unfamiliar with the customs. Between the years 1690 and 1692 he had six suits of various plaintiffs filed against him in court. Most were dismissed. These suits can be found in the Westmoreland County Book 1690-1698, page 8, page 17A, page 28 and page 42. There is also a record of John Brickey witnessing a deed on June 29, 1699.

John Brickey is also known as a "man of letters and an expert accountant."

Notes for Marva Brickey:
The records state that Marva died the same day she married but I question this.
