(Hyduk) Sattler was taken at an early age.Her parents immigrated to the United States from Germany prior to her birth on February 16, 1903.Both of her parents are unknown, except for the Hyduk surname.Her mother died during childbirth in the United States.Her father, deciding that he could not care for Mary and her older sister (unknown), gave them to an orphanage and returned to Germany.She was never adopted from the orphanage.She married Frank F. Giants, consisted of Freddie Fitzsimmons, Hal Schumacher, Leroy Parmelee, and Carl Hubbell.This pitching staff won the World Series for the Giants in 1933.Carl Hubbell was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947, obtaining the highest total of votes that year.Carl baffled hitters with a devastating screwball, he compiled a 46-inning scoreless streak in 1933 and won 16 straight in 1936. Dr. Olin E. Parmelee was born Nov. 19, 1873, on a farm near Hillsdale.As a young man he worked on the farm and for a railway, determined to become a doctor.He became a bellboy in a Chicago hotel, then a male nurse in a Chicago hospital.Finally he enrolled in Harvey College.He went to night classes six nights a week, working as a dance instructor during the daytime to pay room and board.He was graduated from the University of Illinois medical school at Chicago in June, 1905.He moved to Lambertville, MI in March, 1906 to become a country doctor.His oldest son, Leroy Parmelee, became a professional baseball player and played with the N.Y.
