UPDATED: 02 Aug 1999 I am researching the SAVANT, PIANFETTI, BERTOLDO, CONTRATTO, POLLA and TOMASI (as well as other) family lines from Locana, Canavese in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy near Torino. My grandfather Carlo SAVANT (b.13 May 1871) was raised in an orphanage in Torino. He married my grandmother Maria Maddalena PIANFETTI (b.17 Feb 1870) in Locana on 02 Apr 1892 where she was born. They immigrated to Montana in the late 1890's. I am also researching the MARSH, BARNARD, MUSTIN, MCMURPHY, PECK, WALKER, BURR, BARRICKMAN, TEMPLETON, HANNA, COFFIN, MACY, WHITNEY, BUNKER and HARVEY (as well as other) family lines, most originating in the northeastern US in the 1600-1700's. I am particularly interested in the ancestors of Silas MARSH (b.26 May 1764 in Lebanon, CT), Catherine PECK (b.10 May 1777 in Greenwich, CT), Eliza Ann (or Ann Eliza) WALKER (b.Abt 1821 in Beaufort, SC) wife of Samuel Cornelius MUSTIN (b.Abt 1818 in Philadelphia, PA), and Theodore BURR (b. 16 Aug 1771 in Torrington, CT). Some of the families are from Nantucket, as well as New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut, who then moved south to North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and west to Indiana, Colorado and finally California. Any information that may be provided will be greatly appreciated and the favor will be returned where possible. I have an updated and expanded genealogy available, but I can't post it here, at least for the time being, as I'm behind a firewall and can't get through. This new genealogy has relied on information provided by a great number of fellow genealogists who have submitted information to WFT and posted information on FTM and elsewhere on the internet. I have been in touch with many directly. I am most grateful to all who have provided me with information and they have been recognized in the notes section of my genealogy where applicable. Additions and corrections are always gladly accepted and appreciated very much. I will be happy to provide information directly to anyone interested. Some of my notes and especially the Italian portion are new and are provided as my share and contribution to our growing community of genealogists and the information they make available to us all. Thanks. Bernie. |
