Collettes of Vermont and Ellis/Blairs of Georgia and AlabamaUpdated October 12, 2011 | Claude Martin Collette and Jane Blair began our family when Jane ignored her own decree that she would never marry a Yankee and never a soldier. Jane met Claude in March 1942. He was from Vermont and in the service at Fort MacPherson Army Base, Atlanta GA. They met on one Sunday and married on the next. Seven children later our family was complete. This work is an attempt to find their ancestors and to document their descendants. I have borrowed freely from many sources and I wish to thank those who have contributed to my family information. Some of this information is well documented and some should be used only as possiblities. Please check all information yourself before you accept it as truth. It is a work in progress. I have decided that if I check everything before I publish it I will never publish it. It is a mess but here it is. Capitalized first names are my direct line. I look forward to working with any cousin, inlaw or outlaw as we share our family history. All information is for noncommercial use. |
