| The Scantlan Family of Missouri We have traced our family back to Virginia and are in the process of tracing it to Ireland. Our family name has changed several times. SCANLAND-SCANTLING-SCANTLAND-SCANTLAN-SCANTLIN and so forth. It is impossible to say why the name has changed so many times or why it changed. My great grandfather went by Scantlin until his death-but my grandfather went by Scantlan. If you have any information regarding our family tree, we would appreciate any and all help you can give.
