Notes for Winfield Scott Ginther: Burial: Roscoe Cem. Graham County, KS Obituary: Scott Ginther was born Nov. 11, 1852 at Millersburg, IA. and died July 11, 1938 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Earl Wallace at the age of 85 yrs. and 8 months. His boyhood was spent at Millersburg, IA., in 1870 where he took a homestead near Spencer residing there until 1878 when he moved to Graham county KS. where he resided until death. Except one year spent in Iowa. He married to Mary Washburn, Dec. 25, 1882, who preceded him in death Apr. 23, 1934. To this union was born one son and two daughters. He leaves to mourn his passing three children. Mrs. Earl Wallace, Fay Ginther both of Hill City and Mrs. George Scarlett of Norton, who were all at his bedside at time of his death. He also leaves six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In his early life he became a member of the U. B. Church and lived a faithful Christian until death. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Spring Creek Church conducted by W. E. Grimes, a former pastor. Interment in the Roscoe Cemetery. Relatives and friends from a distance attending the services were; Mr and Mrs George Scarlett and family and Mrs. Tom Scarlett and daughters, of Norton; Everett Wallace of Hiwasse, Ar.; Mrs Rosa Washburn, of Los Angeles, CA.; Mr and Mrs Frank Newth of Prairie View; Mr and Mrs John Ginther and Mr and Mrs Irvin Wymore of Bartley, Nebr.; Mr and Mrs Perry Stonehocker and family or Garden City, and Mr and Mrs John Wilkins of McCracken.
