Notes for Julia Ann Blankenship: Obituary: Julia Ann Blankenship, daughter of Palmer and Amanda Blankenship, was born Feb. 26, 1851, in Kentucky, and died at her home in Athens, MO., Sunday Feb. 15, 1920, aged 68 yrs. 11 months and 19 days. She came to Missouri at an early date and settled in Schuyler county. She was united in marriage to Lewis Scarlett, Mar. 18, 1870. To this union were born eleven children, nine of whom survive her, two children having preceded her in death. She united with the Methodist church thirty-five years ago and tried to live up to the teachings of her Bible. She had borne her sufferings with great patience for the past two years. She was a devoted mother, loved her home and children and was ever ready to help those in distress. She was a kind wife, a good neighbor and will be sadly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her intimately. Funeral was conducted by A. J. McClees, at Peakesville, MO., Feb. 18, 1920. Burial in Peakesville Cemetery.
