3. HARRIET3 BROWN (WILLIAM P.2, ----1) was born 15 January 1811 in Philadelphia, PA16, and died 4 October 1870 in Marlin, TX, (Falls Co)17. She married JOSEPH H. HALL 1 January 1834 in Tuscaloosa Al18, son of CHARLES HALL and MARY BYRNE.

Notes for JOSEPH H. HALL:
Ran a plantation at Honeycutt, with fields & lumber mills, shipped through boats and barges on the Tensaw and Mobile rivers.

They raised Harvey Donoho, whose parents had died, and Sherwood Hall, who was a double nephew.

Used his barges to transport first soldiers to the battle front at Mobile, hence the burnings of Plantation home "Honeycutt."

Family went to a log cabin in old Claiborn, near Fort Mims, called Buzzards Nest.

       Joseph Hall; Born November 26th, 1804, He married Harriet Brown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. His is the son of Charles Hall, II who married Mary Byrne Hall. When the Hall's came to this are they settled near Hall's Neighborhood, later called Carpenter Station thats near Atmore, Ala. today. Hall spent most of his life as a planter and sawmill operator, and later was sheriff of the county during the Alabama Territory days. He was high in the ranks of a Democratic leader he supported his fellow citizens. (from picture caption)

"General B.G. Shields was for several years in the House of Representatives of the United States. His election was an evidence of his popularity for Marengo County was Whig in Politics. Mr. Shields was a leading, decided Democrat of the Jackson school. He was elected in 1841 to Congress from the Mobile district. president Polk appointed him United States Ambassador to Venezuela. He was an eminent Attorney-at-Law---conversed with ease and fluency, an agreeable gentleman with a good person, a well rounded face, piercing black eyes."
