The Scafe family traces its line back through John Charles Scafe, Charles Earnest Scafe (Jr. & Sr.), Joseph Scafe, and Miles Scafe in Missouri and Wisconsin. Miles came over from England in the early 19th century. We don't know anything about him before that. Christopher's maternal line runs back through Perdita Green, Clarence Lawson Green, Iva Artie Paradise (b. 1906), Charles Willis Green (b. 1878), and Junie Ann Willson (b. 1882) in various parts of eastern Kansas. The Cross family traces its origins back through Leland Wallace Cross, Hazel May Snyder, Shirley Wallace Cross (b. 1906), Mary Jean Burns, Valentine Snider, Ethel May Anderson (b. 1904), William McAlpine Burns (b. 1901), Jean Stevenson, Emma Sofia Nilsdotter (b. 1868), Charles Wilheim Anderson, Emma Lovisa Andersdotter (b. 1842), and Nils Johan August Samuelsson in the U.S. Midwest, Sweden, and Scotland. We are currently researching the Swedish line which goes back to the parish of Misterhult in the southern portion of the country. We are also beginning to look into the Greens and the Paradises in Kansas. Any help is appreciated!
