The town of Arnegard, North Dakota, bears the name of its founder, Albert Arnegard. Another member of this family is Ole Arnegard, formerly a banker in Hillsboro."

At the time of his demise, Halvor Arnegard was the owner of a section of land besides money invested in interest bearing loans. His brother Ole had thousands of dollars loaned to neighbors and friends at the time of his death. His oldest son, also named Ole, was at one time owner of $150,000, had controlling interest in four banks and was the President of Hillsboro National Bank for over twenty years. Iver, a brother of Halvor and Ole, died in prime of life but left his widow and four children in comfortable circumstances. A son of Iver was one of the most prosperous farmers in Traill County. Haldis, a sister of Halvor, Ole, and Iver, was married to Ole Engebretson. They joined the Arnegard caravan in its long journey from Iowa, but Haldis, who became tired during the journey, remained in Minnesota for a while. Later she completed the journey and joined the neighborhood where her brothers had settled. The Engebretsons also became prosperous."
