1. IGNATIOUS (1)¹ DAVIS was born Abt. 1748 in Culpeper Co, VA, and died February 28, 1803 in Montgomery Co, KY. He married MARY MILLER, daughter of JAMES L MILLER.

In the name of God, amen, I Ignatious Davis being weak of body, but in perfect
mind and memory, thanks to God, do dispose of my worldly goods, that god hath
bestowed on me in the following manner: First, to my beloved wife Mary Davis
all the household furniture, together with half the stock of cattle, with the
roan mare and 3 of her colts, and $40 that is in the hands of John Six (FIX ?)
and secondly to my son Luke, I give the other half of the cattle with the
remainder of the horses and the land that I live on. Thirdly, I leave to my son
John one quarter dollar. Fourthly, I give to David, my son, one quarter
dollar. Fifthly. I give to my daughter Nancy, on quarter dollar, sixthly, I
give to my son Josept one quarter dollar. Seventhly, Igive to my daugher Mary
one quarter dollar, eighthly, I give to my son Asa one quarter dollar, ninthly,
I give to my daughter Dorcas one quarter dollar, and I do allow my wife
Mary to be my adminisratix and I do hereby --- all former wills as witness
my hand this 13th day of May 1801(witnesses, John Whitcraft & Elizabeth Brown)

At a court held for Montgomery Co on Feb 28th 1803 etc...Mary Davis is the executrix thereto named and was previewed by the oaths of John Whitcraft and Elizabeth Brown .....who together with Andrew Brown & James Brown and Luke Davis is entered into....et.
