John Barber (son of Samuel Barber and Ruth Drake) was born Abt. 1694 in Windsor, Hartford Co, CT,²²⁵, and died 29 March 1767 in Windsor, Hartford, CT,²²⁶. He married Jane Alvord on 24 July 1717 in Windsor, Hartford Co, CT,^{227, 228}, daughter of Jeremy Alvord and Jane Hoskins.

John Barber, son of Samuel and Ruth Drake Barber wa not yet 21 years of age when his father died. He married Jane Alvord, in Windsor. They had thirteen children. Their daughter Naomi married her cousin Daniel Barber, son of Joseph and Mary Barber.
