Notes for C
ASPAR SPOHN:
Notes on possible Hessian Service of Casper Spohn/Kasper Spahn from the Amrev-Hessian mailing list on Rootsweb:

Kaspar Spahn was a wagon attendant with the Hesse-Hanau Artillery.
His commander the famous Capt. Paeusch/Pausch, the one who wrote a
Journal which was translated by William L. Stone, and reprinted by
The New York Times and Arno Press in 1971 (probably out of print)

HETRINA VI, page 462/63:
" SPAHN, Kaspar, born 1753/54 at Breitenbach D6490, on Muster Roll in
Apr.1776, Wagonmaster, listed as prisoner, and now it gets a little
confusing, Hetrina lists him first time as a prisoner in Sep.1781,
but he may have been a prisoner since Saratoga in
Oct.1777, perhaps even earlier at Bennington in August 1777. But
Hetrina does not say so. Next he is listed as prisoner in Aug.1782,
as a deserter in Sep.1782, in fact there is a mentioning in Clifford
Neil Smith's Monograph #5 (Hanau), that on Sep.29.1782 he entered
American Service (perhaps meaning he joined some Continental unit),
but Hetrina has him in Sep.1782 still as a prisoner, who sold himself,
in other words, indentured himself. In the Monograph is another note,
that Kaspar Spahn, the wagon attendant remained in Virginia after
the 12.May 1783, meaning, he did not go home with the other prisoners."

"Caspir Spon" shows up on the 1786 Oley Twp. Tax record as a "single freeman". He doesn't appear before this on the Oley tax records, and this is the only time he shows up in Oley, as far as I can tell. I then checked the Earl Twp., Records from 1787 onward, and Caspar first appears in:

1789 Earl Twp., as "Caspar Span" with 35 acres of deedland, 1 cow, and occupation given as wheelright. There are gaps in the tax records for Earl Twp., so they are not available for every year.

1791 Earl Twp. is the next year, he is listed as "Kaspar Spon, 17 or 19 acres deed land, 2 cows, and occupation not listed,

1792 Earl Twp., "Caspar Spon", 19 acres deed land, 2 cows, occupation "Wilrith"

1794 Earl Twp., "Caspar Spon", 19 acres deed land, 2 head cattle, occupation Wheelright.

1795 Earl Twp., "Caspar Spon", 19 acres deed land, 2 cows, wheelright

1799 Earl Twp., "Caspar Spoone" 19 acres deed land, 2 cows, wheelwright.

Caspar is also on 1801 Earl Twp., Tax list.
