Notes for FRANK SHANKLE ARMAGOST: Received Jan 1999 from Betty Ondricek, Plymouth, CA (bczech@directcon.net); "Frank was a telegraph operator. He was very close to his brother George and his Neice Jessie. He wrote to Jessie and told her he was going up in the mountains near New York hunting. He didn't come back so a search party went out. They found a man's body partial eaten by wolves. The clothing labels matched those of Frank so they believe it was his body. One thing was wrong. Frank had 2 fingers missing on one hand and the body had all ten fingers. The family believes that the man had robbed Frank, taken his clothing and possibly murdered him and then was attacked by wolves and died." |
