Vital information for Peter Everett Armagost, his wife Anna Mary Shankle and their children received Jan 1999 from Betty Ondricek, Plymouth, CA (bczech@directcon.net); "Peter left Pennsylvania with his brother James. First he went to Illinois and then to Iowa and then to Kansas (he built the Fair View school near Burr Oak, Kansas). He left Kansas and went to the state of Washington in the late 1890's. His wife stayed behind. In Washington he homesteaded 160 acres of government land. He also owned about five homes there. One day in May of 1905 he got caught out in a storm near a friends home. He was out all night and the next morning they found him dead. The Coroner said he died of natural causes, but his family thinks differently. The day before his death, during the storm, he had signed over all his houses to this friend."

He wrote to Jessie and told her he was going up in the mountains near New York hunting. He didn't come back so a search party went out. They found a man's body partial eaten by wolves. The clothing labels matched those of Frank so they believe it was his body. One thing was wrong. Frank had 2 fingers missing on one hand and the body had all ten fingers.
