He married MARY JANE CARSON1 11 November 1847 in Leslie, Ingham, MI, daughter of STEPHEN CARSON and NANCY. She was born 06 December 1830 in Independence, Allegany, NY, and died 04 April 1906 in Town of Morley, Langlade, WI2.

ARY JANE CARSON:
The Daily Journal, Friday April 13, 1906, Page Five, Volume 1. "Mary J. Carson, was born Dec. 5, 1830 at Independence, Allegheny Co., N. Y., died April fourth, 1906, at the age of seventy five years and four months.
"She was married Nov. 11, 1847 at Leslie, Mich., to Rancellor Polar; eight children were born to them, four daughters and four sons, two of her daughters have died since reaching womanhood; her husband died eleven years ago.
"Since the death of her husband she has made her home with her son Clarence in Barnum, Minn., until she became unable to care for the home by reason of ill-health she then came to make her home with her son, Charley, at Morley, Wis., where she could have the care and personal attention of her son Charley and his wife Agnes.
"Six children remain to mourn her loss also a brother and sister besides several other relatives and many friends. Her daughter, Mrs. J. L. Fuller lives in Iona, Mich., and her daughter Mrs. J. J. Clark lives in Seattle, Washington, her son, Charley, lives in Morley, Wis., Clarence in Springbrook, Wis., Giles in Wright, Minn., and Warren in Velva, N.D. Her sister, Mrs. Bailey, lives in Jackson, Mich. She also leaves another sister in Mich.
"Mrs. Polar was a devoted christian, having united with the Methodist Church in her girlhood days she has ever since endeavored to serve her Heavenly Father to the best of her ability, her children's earliest memory of her confirms this statement.
"...The funeral services were held at the home of her son, Charley in Morley, Wis., April 5, 1906. Rev. V. R. Thompson officiated at the services.
"The remains were carried to Barnum, Minn., for interment and were accompanied by her bereaved daughter, and her sons, Charley and Clarence."
