| This home page is dedicated to the descendants of William Taylor (1783-1859) and his wife Elizabeth Wells Taylor(1783-1849). William was the son of Charles and Anne Brown Taylor. He was born in Grainsby, Lincolnshire, England and married Elizabeth Wells in nearby North Thoresby in 1803. In the 1830s-1850s, they and almost all of their children and/or grandchildren emigrated to the United States, settling first in Cincinnati, Ohio. Subsequently, the family spread out throughout the United States, with major concentrations in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, and Ohio. Around 1899, William's youngest son Joseph made a family tree listing all family members to date; a cousin, Grace Linden, and I hope to publish an updated version by 2000.
