While the 1850 Census in Kendell CO IL lists "Mike" Villeneuve, born about 1849, it is probable that the correct name was Mark (probably Marc) , shown in the 1860 Census as living with his oldest brother Joseph and wife, and his mother Mary. While it is possible that Flavie could have had a child at about age 15, it seems more likely that she did not. No further evidence could be found re "Mark", however; and this may be too much of a reach, there is the possibility that "Mark" also had the personal name Pierre. There are endless variations of the surname Villeneuve in this time frame in Illinois, but citations indicate that only one Villeneuve family moved to the area from Canada.
Pierre (later Peter) and "Mark" were born at about the same time in Illinois. After his father died, "Mark" and his mother lived with his oldest brother Joseph. By 1870, "Peter" was living with Oliver Villeneuve, another older brother, in Chicago. By 1880, "Peter Vinlove" his wife and child were living next door to Oliver Vinlove in Cloud CO, KS. Peter later returned to the Chicago area where he and his wife died.

My note: this is no doubt the same "Peter Vidner" age 19, who lived with Oliver and Julie in Chicago per the 1870 Census above. The 1880 Census states he was born in IL, but the 1870 Census says NY. When his daughter Sarah was baptized in 1879, the record indicates he was from Montreal!

My note: During the second part of the nineteenth century, French Canadians migrating in the face of intense economic pressure at home made their way to the Kankakee area, where they founded the town of Bourbonnais. In the 1870s a large number of French Canadian families settled in the Brighton Park area of Chicago, where some of their descendants still remain.
