| i. | Amy Catherine Schumacher, born December 05, 1985 in Humanna Hosp., Hoffmann Estates, DuPage, Illinois. |
Notes for Amy Catherine Schumacher: Godparents: Susan Elaine Reid & Steven George Reid Amy is the only grandchild Tom Reid ever got to see. He would push her in her stroller as she sang what he called her "Yo-yo song!" She was 21 months old when he died, and he considered her, and the other four grandchildren he was expecting, the greatest blessings in his life. At age 9 Amy began piano lessons, and discovered that her talent for music extends beyond singing. At 10 she added began learning to play the alto saxophone in her school band; she won a gold medal at the band solo contest 5 months later, just after moving from beginning to intermediate band. She also loves reading, all kinds of crafts, camping at Walcamp in Kingston, IL, and babies! Her favorite foods are ribs and shell-fish (just like Mom!). At 12, Amy loves reading, camping, biking, and, of course, babies! She still plays the saxophone, but dropped piano due to Jr. High homework, confirmation classes, youth group and normal pre-teen activities. Her faith continues to deepen and grow, and she's becoming a very thoughtful young woman with a strong sense of justice and deep compassion. 1999 found Amy returning to piano lessons, rock climbing on the Mississippi palisades (including "the Chimney!), and truly enjoying a great deal of babysitting. She loves children, especially her cousins, and wants to become either a music teacher or a pediatrician. |

| ii. | Kyle Anton Schumacher, born January 25, 1988 in Alexian Bros. Hosp., Elk Grove Village, DuPage, IL. |
Notes for Kyle Anton Schumacher: Godparents: Amy and Ted Foster At age 9, Kyle is beginning to learn piano. His biggest interest is science, and he especially enjoys learning about animals, natural forces like volcanoes and tornadoes, astrology, and "amphibians." He also seems to have an affinity for babies, and loves making his younger cousins laugh. Kyle also enjoys boy scouts and camping with family. At 10, Kyle continues to grow -- mostly taller! He's had health struggels this year with allergy-related asthma, localized scleroderma on one thigh, and seemingly seasonal bi-polar depression. I include this information so others may someday read it and know it is not a taboo subject, nor reason for stigma. Emotional health is as vital as physical, and as hereditary. With mild medication and counselling on coping techniques, he does quite well. He has dropped piano due to homework and increased activity with scouting -- he's a WeBeLo this year, and Dad is the assistant den leader and the cub master for the pack. Kyle loves scouting activities, science and nature, reading and swimming. 1999 found Kyle continuing to grow in body, soul, intelligence, and emotional awareness. Rediagnosed in January as having anxiety disorder rather than bi-polar depression, the combination of a mild antidepressant and a coping skills group really seems to helping him with self-control and problem-solving. One in ten children today have some form of anxiety disorder, and the triggers can vary from school to specific subjects or kids at school, to relationships, new situations, etc.. It's a more stressful world for children today. Kyle's best traits are his delightful singing voice, his sense of humor, his compassion for others and his unswerving faith in God. He wants to become either a scientist or a pastor. |
