Notes for G
ERHARD HERMAN SCHEPERS:
Immigrated to USA from RhuleTwist, Germany. Settled in Nebraska. Following is from a letter from Theresa Anne Neville Schepers, daughter in law to Mr. Schepers; Dear Mr Schepers, Good Luck on your family tree! I'm sending info of Georges descendants, (son of Herman), .
I didn't know grandpa Schepers very well, he was a quiet man. He didn't talk much about himself or where he came from. As I remember the story, he and his brother left Germany to escape the draft ( conscription). He never said who his brother was ( Gerhard Heinrich?- martin schepers), but the family seemed to think he went to St Louis (there is a census record that might corolate this- M schepers). I gathered he was fearful of talking about his past, and as I was a new bride with family, I didn't care. Susie's daughter may know more ( see actual letter- Mc Pheters), grew up near her grandfather and may know more.
Another family in Missouri may be related (see actual letter m. schepers) they are aging but are pretty sharp still, we have no clue if we are related.
If you get this line figured out, more power to you. I hope this is helpful to you and not confusing.
                  Mrs Francis ( Theresa) Schepers

Notes for J
OHANN HEINRICH SCHEPERS:
Family immigrated through Boston, and were supposed to be met by (cousin?) Lukas Groninger , he was not there so they took a train to Nebraska to stay with family or cousins there, until they could move on to Shawnee, Ok. In Shawnee they stayed with the Horrbachs, until they could move to the farm they bought from Frank Mattocks. We have the land documents from Mattocks Land Run Deed signed By Pres Theodore Roosevelt. Years later when Grandson Herman H. Schepers married Ruth Brown they were told to send an Invitation to a Walter Schepers in Nebraska, a relative, they sent a table cloth. We have located the Nebraska family ( Herman Heinrich's brother), Gerhard Herman and family.

  Notes for MARIA ELIZEBETH SCHEPERS:
Aunt Little Lizzie was a short, short person even when I was a child. I believe she was very shy, she rarely had anything to say to us kids. She lived on the old Schepers farm north of Shawnee with her brother Uncle Bernard Schepers. We always had a great time prowling around the farm. There are natural weeping springs on the farm, and in a Drought one could always keep water in the lower pond by digging the mud off one of the springs in the upper pond. There was a large smooth rock area on the south edge of the farm that appeared to have been a stream bottom at one time.

  v.   BERNARD HERMAN HENRY SCHEPERS, b. October 24, 1898; d. April 06, 1966, Shawnee, Ok , buried Calvary Catholic Cemetary, NW of Shawnee.
Notes for BERNARD HERMAN HENRY SCHEPERS:
Uncle Bernard was taller than my grandfather Schepers (Gerhard Herman) but was also skinny. He would on the 4th of July celebration, drink beer and eat homemade ice cream at the same time. He lived on the old Schepers farm with his sister Elizebeth. I think he was shy also like his sister.
