Discussion with Julia Buckley Schulkers Sharman:
I remember the Buckleys were from Lexington and possibly in the tobacco business. I know they had race horses and still do.
Wesley Greathouse married one of Grandma's sisters and had a son John and daughter Margaret.

Discussion with Susan Darnell Robertson, 3/5/02:
Yes, I did know that - When I worked as a 'Government Girl" for the Agriculture Dept. after I retired from the church and while Bev was still working at Southern States, I often would be sent to the sales at the Greathouse Brothers tobacco warehouse. It was fun there, because we called each other CUZ.
Of course, years ago, my brother John and Leonard Greathouse were friends, as well as realizing they were related by marriage.
I loved Len - and tolerated John, his brother, who was a bit of a snob, if I may say so. One time in 1938 when Ruth and I were both attending the University of Kentucky, Judy came down for the weekend, and we went to a football game with Len and John and one of their fraternity brothers. Ruth was wearing her pony skin coat. We walked downtown, and passed by "Aunt Jule's" house, where she was sitting on the porch. We stopped and talked with her, and I really did not know who she was, but everyone else did. I have wondered a thousand time who she was. We went out to the Greathouse's farm for breakfast on Sunday morning, - that was is 1938, and I can just barely remember. Another Greathouse sister married Kenneth VanLear Miller's father. Ken and his wife, Ann, are good friends - he was the architect who built the church where I worked so long, and Ann worked there, too. I keep forgetting to ask Ken which sister was his mother, and what was his father's name.

There is the funniest little program on Family Tree Maker that tells you your relationship to anyone in the listing. I am Robert E. Lee's fourth cousin twice removed - And he was married to his fourth cousin. I suppose I was Len's Aunt's husband's great-niece - or something!
