Arrived on ship "Friendship" in Philadelphia, PA, ship list 1744. Not sure about this man being from Germany. Have found other records showing birth in NC in 1729.

Immigration 1: 1751, possibly arrived from Germany with the name of Specht.
Immigration 2: 1744, Philadelphia, PA

2-22-2005--Mecklenburg County Land Entrys mentions the name David Speck six times. First entry is from page 527 dated 3-11-1779. It mentions that David Speck took 130 acres on the north side of Buffilow (sic) creek. It mentions Michael Ewolt. Ewolt was probably a son in law. Last entry was dated June 26, 1781.

Ordered that letters of Admrs. on the estate of Speck, David, decd. issued to Barbara Speck & Geo. Henry Barger who qualified & gave for security. Henry Saucerman. Bound in 1200 pounds {specie]." April, 1782

And after hearing the allegations of the contending parties & their Witnessess (after being sworn) it is our judgment & opinion that the said Land does of right belong & ought to belong to the heirs of the said David Speck, Decd. In witness whereof, we have set our hands this 26 day of June, 1789. Jno.
