MRS. GEHRIG DEAD
On Wednesday morning after an illness of a few weeks from la grippe, Mrs. Catherine Gehrig passed away at her home three miles southeast of Freeburg. The funeral took place Saturday morning from the Catholic church in Freeburg. Deceased whose maiden name was Catherine Loeffler, was born in Aldheim Germany, on May 28,1826 and was married about 56 years ago to Valentine Gehrig, who died seven years ago December last. Shortly after their marriage they came to this country, and resided in Virginia and Ohio a few years before coming to this county. Deceased has resided on the old homestead in Crooked Creek for about forty-five years. Three daughters and three sons remain to mourn her loss, Viz. Mrs. Elizabeth Roster, of Crooked Creek, Mrs. Peter Esch and Mrs. Matt Schleich of Mayville, John,Valentine and Anton of Crooked Creek.
