Prokes Dies in La Crosse Mrs Katherine Prokes, a former old resident of this locality, died Saturday, Jan. 28th, at the home of her daughter Mrs. M.K. Sauer in La Crosse, at the age of 91 years. Besides Mrs. Sauer, the deceased leaves two other children, residents of this vicinity, Mrs. Anton Lorenz and Mrs. Albert Berenak. Her husband Joseph Prokes died in Hokah, at their home near the village, on Nov. 20th, 1902 Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church in La Crosse, and internment was made in the Hokah Convent cemetery.
