Notes for Ethel Boline Mackey: Odebolt Chronicle May 5, 1966 Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Quirk, 76, were held at 2o'clockat the Methodist Church in Odebolt, on Thursday afternoon, April 28th. she died at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa on Monday April 25th. she had been in the hospital for three days and prior to that a resident of Colonial Manor in Odebolt Iowa. burial was in the Odebolt, Iowa Cemetery Ethel Boline Mackey was born in Postville, Iowa April 9, 1890, daughter of Oliver and Laura Deering Mackey. She moved when small to Sac Count Clinton Township, iowa. she attende rural schools and was amember of the Methodist Church in Clinton Township and of the Wall Lake Methodist Church in Wall Lake , Iowa. she married Arch Quirk February 20, 1912. they were the parents of two children, Merle A quirk of Wall Lake Iowa and Lemerne,Mrs. John Hollenback of Placentia, Ca. they made their home on a farm northeast of Odebolt until this past year. Her parents, husband, infant sister Carolyn, two half-sisters, Mabel and Edna, preceeded her in death. she is survived by two children; five grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; three brothers, Ray of Buffalo Mn; Leonard and Leland of Oklahoma City, Ok., and a half-sister, Alta Downey of Bloomfeild Ne.
