| My family surnames that I am researching are: BUSSELL(E), CHAMBLISS, REID, GRAVES, BLAKNEY, MCLEISH, SCHUYLER, HEASLEY My grandfather on my father's side was Charles Arthur BUSSELL(E) (born in Breckinridge, Stephens County, TX around 1892). He was married to my grandmother, Nora Mildred REID. Mildred and Charles had three children. Charles & Mildred divorced after a several years. I have him on the 1920 census in Duluth, MN and later can confirm he was in Chicago where my grandmother gave birth to his third child (1925) and divorced him that year. I believe he migrated to Fort Smith, Sebastian County, AR where, I believe, he married Ruby LEE in 1934. Benjamin Franklin BUSSELL and Willie CHAMBLISS, my g-grandparents, had four known children: Charles (born 1892), Walter, Mattie & Mollie. Willie later married a James STEWART and had seven more children while Benjamin married Nancy CHAMBLISS, maybe a distant relative of Willie's. My grandmother, Mildred REID, was born in Virginia, MN and lived in Duluth, MN until her death in 1988. Mildred married twice more after Charles--Claude ANDERSON and Alfred PAYETTE. She had three more children by Claude and none by Alfred. My grandfather on my mother's side was GEORGE GRAVES. George's parents were James and Hattie Graves. He was from Michigan. He married NORA BLAKNEY. They lived in Duluth, MN. Nora's mother was Elizabeth McLeish (MacPherson Clan) who immigrated from Canada. She married Walter BLAKNEY. George and Nora had four children. Both of Nora's parents are buried in Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, MN. George and Nora are buried in Sunrise Cemetery in Duluth, MN. I have no other info on the BLAKNEYS. Most of my family is from the Midwest, mostly Minnesota, although many came from Canada and migrated to Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa. I am also trying to find information on my children's grandparents: GEORGE BRADFORD SCHUYLER (buried in Beverly, NJ National Cemetary in 1951). He married OLIVE HEASLEY from MN. George worked for DuPont and we were told he worked on the Manhattan Project. He was a civilian so we don't know why he was buried in the military cemetery. He died of cancer in his 50's. Olive was born in Hibbing, MN. She died in Grand Marais, MN in 1974. The SCHUYLER'S had four children. I believe George's parent's names were Peter SCHUYLER and Mary Jane JACKSON of Morris County, NJ. Please contact me if you may have any information regarding these surnames. I will gladly share my information with you too. |
