This photo shows the Beecroft Cub Pack after a Scout and Cub Parade through Sydney in 1943 during WW2. After the parade in Hyde Park, we assembled on the steps of St. Mary's Cathedral for this photo. At that time, I was 10 years of age and the Packleader, complete with two stars on my cap and a full complement of badges on my sleeve. I was near the centre of the back row, and was asked by our Akela, standing behind me, to take the salute on behalf of the pack. My brother Richard, aged 8, was in the front row, on the right, with his legs together and one star on his cap.
