This photo is of a photocopy of a photo taken at the Tynwald Celebration on the IOM in 1896. It shows the traditional tent on the Tynwald Hill, with Margaret QUAYLE (previously QUIGGIN nee CAIN), 1829-1904, facing the camera. Standing on the left and facing the camera can be seen Lilly QUIGGIN, wife of Thomas Edmund QUIGGIN, who had returned to the IOM with his wife and daughter in 1896 to help the widow and family of his recently deceased brother, Robert Cain QUIGGIN. The photocopy was made from an old photo found in the family photo album of my grandmother, Lilly Pearl SCHUBERT nee Quiggin,with a caption stating "Grandma Quayle".
