This photo shows my mother, Mrs H.M.Schubert, and my sister, Christine, ready to attend an ANZAC ceremony, probably the main ANZAC march in Sydney. They are both dressed for the occasion, with hats, gloves and handbags. Mum is wearing the medals of her father, Major J.M.Dougall, which were awarded for service with the British Army in the Boer war and with the Australian Army in WW1. He was one of the ANZACs who landed under the Turkish guns at Gallipoli.
