This is the John Steen home, founder of Steen Township, Knox County, Wheatland, Indiana. It no longer exists. It was torn down before 1997 to make way for more farm land for crops. This is a very sad thing. We lost our heritage for our town and township.

Red and my Great Uncle John Scott married sisters. John Scott use to tease Red Skelton because he was tall, skinny, and had that Red Hair. John would say, "Hey, Red! where did you get that there Skelton?" This is suppose to be where Red got his stage name.
