  Notes for Joseph Pluth:
A paragraph from the journal of Bernard Joseph Pluth (b.1922 ) reads:

"Josef (Uncle Joe) was born April 16,1892. He never married. No information is available about his emigration to the US It is known by me that he was a member of the US Navy. Uncle Joe died by drowning in the Kupa River on the outskirts of the town Methka, Yugo, which is about 10 to 15 miles from Semic. Uncle Joe was on leave from the Navy at the time and was visiting his mother and family. The family was on a camping trip in a park at the river's edge. A woman swimming in the river got into troublein the current and Joe went in to save her. They were both caught in a whirlpool and drowned. His body was recovered and he was buried in the family common grave in the churchyard in Urtaca, Yugo, along with his sister Marija, and his nephew Janez' wife, Kraniska."
