The motto on the Crest means "I Love". Depicted is Drumlanrig Castle, the present clan seat and the Blaeberry, the clan's plant badge. Walter Scott, the first Lord Scott of Buccleuch was the first Scott elevated to the peerage. He was born in 1545. The Scott's feuded with the Kerr's and Elliott's for many years.
