Mrs. Genevieve G. Ives and her sister Miss Mable McDaniel sailed from San Francisco, Califonia on 4-10-1919 on the S.S. Shinyou Maru for Yokohama, Japan. At 11 AM 4-16-1919 they were at Pier 7 Honolulu. From 4-27-19 to 5-5-19, they stayed at the Hotel Pleasanton, 17 Water Street, Yokohma, Japan. On 4-23-19, 2500 homes and stores were destroyed by fire at Yokahama.
They continued to Tokyo, Japan, where they were both employed by the American Trading Company. She lived in Tokyo with her sister at Lookout Cottage Tokyo, Japan 6 Fukuyoshi-Cho Akasaka-ku.
Genevieve left Japan 10-11-1920 on the Korea Maru for San Francisco. She married Walter Elmer Scott on 11-30-1920 at 328 West Washington in Santa Ana, California.
James Ives lived with his grandmother in Milwaukee, Wisc. during this period.

Ives, of Milwaukee, Wis., at Santa Ana, Cal., and that after March 1 he and his wife will be at home to Texarkana friends on the Arkansas side of the city.
Mr. Scott for the past few years has been in the service of the field department of the California Walnut Growers' Association as an horticulturist. He is well and popularly kown by many in and near this city and is the son of the late O.D. Scott and wife, early settlers on the Arkansas side; and has traveled far and wide both in the United States and Pacific Ocean countries practicing his profession as a horticulturist.
Mrs. Scott is a charming young woman who but lately returned from Tokio, Japan, where she has been living for the last two years.
