1. ALEXANDER C.2 DAVES (DAVES1) was born 1790 in Pendleton District, South Carolina, and died 27 October 1853 in Lewisburg, Marshall Co., Tennessee. He married (1) SARAH CARROLL 1814. She was born 1790 in South Carolina, and died 1851 in Lewisburg, Marshall Co., Tennessee. He married (2) HANNAH SIMMONS 10 February 1852 in Lincoln Co., Tennessee.

From Grady Daves: Alexander was drafted into the War of 1812 on 10 November 1814 for 6 months. Discharged at Colberts Ferry on the Tennessee River in Texas, 15 April 1815. (From Jim Daves-6/13/99-Colberts Ferry is in Alabama on the flow of the Tennessee River.)
                 
      He owned land on Mulberry Creek in 1827.
      Had a land grant of 80 acres which Hannah (Simmons) Daves applied for and was regranted about 1855.
      (From Jim Daves 6/13/99) Alexander applied for his bounty for 80 acres for his service 9 April 1852, Warrant #34486 - Hannah Simmons warrant was dated 25 October 1855 which listed him as Alexandra Davis and was denied. Jim has copies of each.

From Marie Southern: Alexander Daves (pvt) enlisted in Tenn. Militia Infantry Nov 13, 1814, Col. Metcalf Captain.

      "1850 Census Marshall Co Tenn.
      Alexander Daves Sr., age 60, - 1790 s.c.. Sarah age 60 - 1790 s.c. James age 21, 1829 Tenn - Alexander Jr. age 18 - 1832 Tenn - Polly, age 35 1815 Tenn, Alexander Sr. married Hannah (widow) wife of James A. Simmons, Lincoln Co., Tenn. By George W.K. Moore, J.P., February 10, 1852."

Born between 1815 and 1925. She was the oldest daughter, never married and was deaf and dumb.
She lived with James Carroll Daves after her parents death.
