From Grady Daves in Arkansas: Alexander M. fought at Pea Ridge for the South in the Civil War. Pvt., Co. 1, Captain Erwins Co., Grinsteads Regiment, Arkansas Infantry. This became Co. 1, 33rd REgiment, Arkansas Infantry. Enlisted June 24, 1862. Caddo Gap Arkansas, age 34, Camp Hindman, July 3, 1862. Fought in Battle of Pea Ridge. Civil War. From Marie Southern: "Confederate - Alexander M. Daves, Pvt., Co. 1, Captain Erwin's Co., Grinsteads Rgt., Arkansas Infantry. This became Co. 1, 33rd Regt., Ark. Infantry. Camp Hindman, July 3, 1862.

**(From Jim Daves 6/13/99) "My mother's family is the family in which Pea Ridge was named, and the other side of her family fought for and was a General at the Battle of Pea Ridge."

NOTE: Susannah was at home at the age of 23. She married Alexander June 20, 1851. On all of George Silas Daves' legal records, they register him as being born in 1848. Also this George Callahan was born 1848. Odd.

3. JAMES CARROLL³ DAVES (ALEXANDER C.², DAVES¹) was born 01 June 1829 in Lincoln Co., Tennessee, and died 03 May 1875 in Tennessee. He married MARGARET MORGAN HOLLY 21 November 1852 in Lincoln Co., Tennessee. She was born 28 December 1827 in Lincoln Co., Tennessee, and died 20 June 1895 in Lincoln Co., Tennessee.

Notes for JAMES CARROLL DAVES:
Moved to Lincoln County, Tenn after old Alexander died.

Buried in the Daves Family Cemetery, Fayetteville, Tennessee.

Listed in the 1870 census, Lincoln County, page 28, micro-copy page 320, 10th district, September 3, 1870, post office, Mulberry, Tennessee. James Carroll died May 3, 1875, Howell, Tennessee and is buried in the Howell Cemetery along with his wife and sister, Mary Elizabeth.

4. WILIAM THOMAS³ DAVES (ALEXANDER C.², DAVES¹) was born 1824, and died January 1901. He married (1) CORDELIA J. HILEMAN, daughter of JESSE H. HILEMAN. She was born 15 April 1867 in Montgomery County, Arkansas. He married (2) ELIZABETH MILLER 08 September 1872.
