Will of Ann [Jones] Scott, Dated May 18, 1839, and Proved July 13, 1846 (In Campbell County, Virginia Will Book 10, Pages 45-46) [pg. 45] In the name of God, Amen. I Ann Scott of the County of Campbell being of sound and disposing mind and memory but aware of the precariousness of human life do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills at any time made by me, that is to say: I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas H. Scott all my estate of every character and description whatsoever, to him and his heirs forever. I appoint my said son Thomas H. Scott to be executor of this my last will and desire that he may qualify [pg. 46] without giving bond and security, Witness my hand and seal the 18th day of May in the year 1839. The foregoing last will & testament of Ann Scott deceased was this day presented in court proven in part by the oath of Jesse A. Benton one of the witnesses thereto subscribed and continued for further proof . And at a Court held for said County the 14th day of June 1847 the same was again pesented [sic] in Court fully proven by the oath of Jno.* W. F. Jones another of the witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded, and in the motion of Thomas H. Scott The Exos. in said will named entered into bond in the penalty of five hun- dred dollars conditioned according to law. The Court not requiring security leave is given him for obtaining probot [sic] thereof in due form of law, and the Court doth order that Mayo Davis, Hyram Cheatwood Jesse A. Benton W. Apperson and B.
