2. WILLIAM² TAYLOR, JR. (WILLIAM¹) was born 1777 in Bedford county, VA. He married KATHERINE READY 27 Oct 1800 in Bedford County, VA, daughter of WILLIAM READY and ELEANOR UNKNOWN. She was born 1784.

Bedford county census of 1850 lists William Taylor as 70 years old at that time.

Marriage Notes for WILLIAM TAYLOR and KATHERINE READY:
J. Alfred Taylor reported in the "Greenbrier Despatch" On Friday, November 20, 1953 that he went hunting for ancestors in Bedford county Va. He reported that William Taylor and Katy Reedy gave bond of $150.00, in Bedford county, VA to marry on October 27, 1830. The bond was signed by William Taylor and William Rose. It appears that the 1830 date was incorrect, since the 1850 census says that Garret Taylor was 26 years of age at that time, and also lists James Clark and Andrew Lewis Taylor as 6 months old.
