Joseph Phipps was born on October 16, 1640 and died October 1715. He married Sarah Benfield born September 1643 in Reading England. Sarah died November 15, 1725 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Joseph and Sarah were married in 1660.Information has it that that Joseph and Sarah came to Deleware Co, PA from England on the WELCOME SHIP with William Penn . Joseph elected as member of Delaware Co to first Assembly at Philadelphia in 1683 when capital was in Philadelphia before being moved to Washington, D.C.From Joseph to the next known Phipps (Peter) we are missing seven generations.I am trying to reconstruct this missing piece and am very inexperienced at the research. Would appreciate any help in this matter.
