| I AM RESEARCHING THE WAYVARD THOMAS SCROGGINS FAMILY of Navarro co.Texas 1918-1993. His father Eugene Scroggins born 1892 in Navarro co. TX. Married Alice M. Key in 1913 and he died 1977 Dallas co. TX. Eugene's father was Thomas Jefferson Scroggins born 1861 Texas possibly Dallas Co. He married Mary Elizabeth Phillips. He died 1941 Navarro co. TX. Thomas Jefferson had six brothers Lewis B., John L., Joseph,William, James Franklin and Sanford. He also had two sisters Sarah M. and Martha. All of his brothers and sister lived in Navarro,Hill,Dallas and Angelina counties Texas. Except one brother Joseph Union Co., Arkansas. Thomas Jefferson father was Thomas Scroggins of Illinois and his mother Mary E. OF Ohio. Thay came to Texas about 1855. Thay are on the 1860 census for Lavaca Co., Texas. His father Barton Scroggin was also on the 1860 census for Lavaca Co.Listed as Scroggins. Also coming to Texas about 1855 Barton was born in Kentucky in 1798 and died 1880 in Pope Co. Arkansas. Barton is listed on the 1820 census for Gallatin Co.,ILL. census, The 1840 Hardin Co.,ILL. census and the 1850 Gallatin Co.,ILL. census. |
