The Scully family was from Southern Ireland around 1835 Thomas Scully my great great grand father (born 1806) arrived in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England with his first wife Ann Loughran. They had 3 children Eliza, Thomas (died as a child) and Ann. They lived at 3 Sykes' Yard, Leeds. After Thomas's first wife died he remarried Martha Mudd at St. Ann's RC church Leeds on the 5 May 1841. Thomas and Martha had 6 children, John, Thomas (died as a child aged 5), Martha, Thomas, Ellen (died as a child of 2 months) and William (my great grand father).William was born on 22 August 1858 which was the same year that his father Thomas died. William married Mary Ann Foster in Bradford on 12 October 1878 at St. Mary's RC Church Bradford. They had 9 children, Elizabeth (died aged 4), William (my grand father), Thomas, Martha (died as a child), Mary Ellen, Ann, Elizabeth, Martha and Henry. The second child William my grand father was born on 23 September 1881.
