2. SR. ROBERT3 CHANDLER, SR. (JOHN2, JOHN1) was born Abt. 1626 in Elizabeth City, VA, and died Bef. April 12, 1669 in York Co., VA. He married ELIZABETH Bet. 1644 - 1646 in York Co., VA. She was born Abt. 1628, and died WFT Est. 1657-1722.

BIRTH: "Robert(2) Chandler, b. ca, 1626, d. 1669, was the son of John(1) Chandler who immigrated to Jamestown, VA in 1609. As a rationale for this father/son relationship: The immigrants following John Chandler were Richard, Arthur, Thomas and William, who came to VA during the period 1622-38 and in every case each survived but a brief time. Job Chandler, who arrived in 1648, was the second Chandler immigrant to VA who was known to survive for an extended period. Thus John(1), b. ca. 1600, and his sons, Robert(2), b. ca. 1626, and John(2), b. ca. 1635, were the only known Chandlers with extended tenure in VA until 1648. Further, it is known that no Robert Chandler of record immigrated to VA during the period 1609-64. Robert(2) was born ca. 1626 - this date being derived from the several proven records of his tenure in VA as a young adult and from the text of his will recorded in 1669. His birthplace would therefore, have been in Kiccoughton (also called Elizabeth Cittie) as it is well established that John(1) lived there at that time. The name of Robert's mother, nor the time of her death is not known. However, John(1) was married by 1636 to Elizabeth - apparently Elizabeth Lupo."
