I am searching for information that could lead me to the family of my GreatGrandFather, Willim R Sears. We suspect that he was born in Clay Co., Mo. in 1844 or 1845.
William was wed to a young Indian girl named Nancy Susan Rouloux, at the Sac Fox Mission on the boarder of Iowa & Nebraska.
I was told William was the first sheriff of Witchita Falls Kansas, and that William was a brick mason and helped build one of the first hotels there. I was also told his name is on one of the corner stones of the hotel. The part of the sheriff and building the hotel are hearsay, but I would like to find out the facts.
If you can help me farther my search, please contact me. I am at a deadlock with this portion of my geneology.

I am also will to share any information I have that may help you.
