I am researching the SEARLE family who orginated from Woodbury East Devon. They moved around the local villages of Rockbeare and Aylesbeare in East Devon until settling in Littleham( Exmouth).
I have traced back to a Thomas Searle from Woodbury c 1680. My family were master shoemakers and later owned a "fly" business in the Strand Exmouth plying betrween Exeter and Exmouth and carrying the early postal service.
George Searle moved from Devon to Fulham, London circa 1880 and married Emily Matilda Hitchcock. They moved later to Catford w2here I was born

The HITCHCOCK family can be traced to St Lukes, Shoreditch, East London 1860
