Our Lightcap ancestors came to central Alabama from Pottstown, Pa in the mid 1800's. We are interested in learning about the Lightcap and Savage families of PA, particualrily of a Jacob Lightcap, b. late 1700's (with a son Samuel) who owned land now part of Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, his wife and his ancestors. Jacob's son is Samuel Lightcap, a Pottstown railroad engineer married to Mary Ann Carpenter. Their son was Dr. Dutton Steel Lightcap of Pottstown married to Minerva Savage of Pottstown, daughter of George W. and Charlotte (Mohr) Savage. Their other son was Dr. Samuel E. Lightcap. Both Dutton and Samuel were dentists. Dr. Dutton and Minerva's son was Dr. Edgar Parker Lightcap, also a dentist. Edgar lived in Talladega, Al, Birmingham, Al and New York City. He had three wives, Ruby Crook of Bessemer, Al, Anne Hebard Thompson of Birmingham, and Maude Anderson James of Talladega, Al
